Supporting Entrepreneurship, Ethical Business Leadership, Good Governance and Nation Building Initiatives.

ACA fosters partnerships within and outside its network that are aligned to its values and objectives.

Our founding partners have always had a passion for public-private dialogue with the aim of improving the quality of decision making at the various levels of governance. The founders were instrumental in setting up the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) – the leading private sector-led think-tank and policy advocacy group in Nigeria. Dick Kramer, ACA’s founding Chairman, served as NESG’s initial Vice Chairman.

Though apolitical, ACA recognises the need for progressive economic policies that enable inclusive growth, economic diversification and human capital development. Over the years, ACA has continued to support the NESG through various initiatives such as the National Assembly Business Roundtable (NASSBER)- which formulates and advocates for pro-business government policies.

ACA’s support of entrepreneurship education is reflected in the fact that it was an early supporter of Lagos Business School (LBS), Nigeria’s premier business school. ACA’s founders have held teaching positions and served on LBS’ board.

The ACA Foundation was established to provide a formal platform for ACA’s contributions to nation-building as well as its support of good governance and ethical business initiatives. From inception, the ACA Foundation has been committed to advocating for macroeconomic policies that enable innovation and entrepreneurship, providing young people with effective entrepreneurial education and training, and access to capital.

ACA Foundation

The Foundation operates as a grant-making organisation, providing funding and strategic non-financial support to traditional and technology initiatives. Traditional CSR initiatives are public sector, private or not-for-profit initiatives that are not driven by technology.

Some of the traditional initiatives supported by the ACA Foundation include sponsorships of:

– FATE Foundation’s Agribusiness Accelerator Pilot Programme which provides training and financial support to early-stage, high-potential and growth-driven agribusinesses over a 3-6-month period.

– Junior Achievement Nigeria’s Venture in Management Programme (ViMP), which introduces high-performing members of Nigeria’s National Youth Service Corps to management education in preparation for the workplace.

Technology initiatives include grants to:

– Decagon, which provides training in software engineering and development; and
– Doctoora E-Health, an online marketplace for short term medical facility rentals.
